A belated Salam Muharram to all my Muslim brethren here and elsewhere. May Allah SWT herald the dawn of the Islamic era this Hegira. A prayer to the brave jihadis of Palestine, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Pakistan and elsewhere and may the wrath of Allah SWT rain upon Israel and its backers and supporters as well as the Kuffars of the world. Good to be back after the long hiatus which was both pretty euphoric and self-enlightening . The sinking feeling set in once the realisation of the amount of catching up i have to undergo in terms of work and blogging dawned upon this self indulgent self. But then again, a pilgrimage ofthe soul is a never ending process even if the body had kissed its fill of the holy land....

I will start with this piece about the MAHB-AIR ASIA saga. Seems to me we are into a new hobby of squandering oodles of moolah building humoungous replicas of white elephants everywhere...but then people will never learn as we have Santa Claus to bail them out or to let them have well run public entities as toys to rape and plunder. hey..this Canland right where silhouttes, dauphins, choir boys and their ilk are in a perpetual tug of war while the poor prole and the disenfranchised peasant are nothing more than basketballs for them superstars and their minions to grab and slamdunk into the nets of poverty for a sliver of shadenfraude.....

MALAYSIA Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) (5014) will go ahead with its plan to build a permanent low-cost carrier terminal (LCCT) under the National Airport Master Plan, which maps out the development of all the airports in the country except Senai Airport, which is privately owned."Pending the government's approval, the first phase of this project could be ready by the end of 2011 and could be built at a reasonable cost due to the availability of existing infrastructure," MAHB said in a statement released to Bursa Malaysia yesterday. The master plan was initiated to set the direction for the future development of airports and the aviation infrastructure in the country. The study, which started in July 2007, was recently completed and was formulated with feedback from all government agencies, Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia and representatives from all foreign airlines. The study needs the endorsement of the government to be implemented. The site for the permanent LCCT is believed to be near Runway 2 of the airport. Details here

Comment: As i said, good money is being thrown into a blackhole when the economy is tottering like an anaemic patient in need of a cash transfusion. Yeah.i can see folks saying that all that construction will create job oppotunities but save for a lucky contractor and his coterie of sub-cons, some steel magnates and cement kings and the nomadic immigrant labourers, i cant see the returns from this one given that we have the evil twin about to peek out of the boondocks of Labu and the Arabs about to jump on the now everyone can fly bandwagon.Yeah ...talk about a 67 year old penny fled, children abandoned and husband dead Makcik Esah of Bagan Serai sprouting wings for a lark in the sky where at least she can munch on some pie to keep her ennui on a perpetual high!!
